Results
This section presents the results of the project Sustainable Water Management for Cuenca under Climate Change Scenarios (SWACH), an initiative primarily funded by VLIR-UOS (Flemish Interuniversity Council for University Development Cooperation). The project’s objective, through the collaboration of various institutions such as the Municipality of Cuenca, ETAPA-EP, the University of Cuenca, and the University of Azuay, is to assess water availability over the next 30 years for the city of Cuenca. Additionally, the project addresses key topics such as citizens’ water consumption habits and population growth projections, with the aim of developing strategies to ensure a safe and sustainable supply of drinking water for the city. The results presented here are the outcome of a collaborative effort that seeks to support planning and decision-making in the context of climate change.
